I just happened to check out some of the DoD procurement numbers for fiscal year 2006. I looked particularly at the numbers for the Defense Logistics Agency and their top 50 companies that they do business with, which can be found here:
http://siadapp.dior.whs.mil/procurement/historical_reports/statistics/p01/fy2006/top100.htmI summarized a little bit of the data here, but from what I can see, there are at least 7 of the top 20 companies that are oil and oil related. Out of the top 30 companies, I'm counting approx 6 billion dollars in sales to these oil companies, or about 21.8% of total DLA spending for FY 2006.
Lots more data to look through at the link above, this is simply a subsegment of total DoD spending, it just made my mouth drop open when I saw it.
