Rush's family and background - I stand corrected, Rush.

I stated earlier that Rush's dad owned a radio station and gave rush his first job. I waw wrond. Rush's family is very, very connected in Republican politics. He comes from a long line of powerful lawyers, judges, etc. His father Rush II, wa a very well known attorney. There are courthouss and other public buildings named after mambers of his family.
Rush III dropped out of college, flunking every course he took, but he had been working in radio since high school, and continued to do so. He was a DJ in Pittsburgh (under a different name), and gradually developed the radio persona that made him what he is today.
His show first went nationwide from WABC New York.
Oh, yeah - he got out of the draft because he had/has a nasty cyst on his ass. Rush III was classified 4F.He has never had any other type of job as far as I can tell, at least not since leaving college.
I don't know how much his family's political influence had to do with his early success in radio, but I would imagine it was quite a lot.
