They think they live in a different world, time for a this world reality check.

Edited on Wed Oct-21-09 05:41 PM by DireStrike
How much of the anti-anti-rich sentiment is due to their money being spent on politicians, laws, and the media? Why do we seem perpetually stuck at 50/50? It's almost as if somebody did a cost benefit analysis and said "ok, we just have to brainwash this many people to keep the system stable." Or, you know, they just threw money at the problem until it worked.

How much would it cost to provide complete protection? I'm sure they could afford protection from all reasonable threats if they started dropping. Sure, the occasional outside-the-box assassination attempt could break through the barrier, but more of them would probably die from accidental falls.

flying F about America. They use America as a tool to manipulate to pad their pockets with cash. These undesirables could give a F if the country succeeds or fails unless it interrupts their cash flow. They represent the complete failure of an out of control capitalistic system.

A RESPONSIBLE company would FIRE all those involved. Why the stock holders are not rioting in the streets in front of their headquarters, I will never understand.

34. Unbelievable. This guy says we should
tolerate this inequality for the common good! Do they really think the people are that stupid, or is HE that stupid that he actually believes his own diatribe? Which would mean he believes they are superior and therefore have to be taken care of before they get around to the starving masses.

It's the equivalent of catching a bank robber about to leave the bank and having him tell you and expect you to believe, that he's doing this, not for the short term benfits to the community at large, that this is a long term project and we need to tolerate the theft for the common good.

Who let this guy loose to try to excuse this theft? And since this is in Britain, are these British subjects getting these bonuses from US tax dollars? I remember that question being asked last year, if foreigners would be given some of this money. And I don't remember getting an answer.

Look at the comment section of that article ~ so many comments have been deleted as people respond to this incredible arrogance.

I think that comment struck a nerve.

And the first thought that popped into my mind when I read the OP was --

overpaid executives must learn to love the sweet whisper of Mme. Guillotuine.

It must be something in the air.

39. There is a very simple solution to counteract their greed.
Income tax rates of 90% on those making over $500,000 a year.

Confiscate their ill gained accumulated wealth with inheritance taxes.

These are not at all unreasonable. The top rate of 94% was in affect during WWII and was maintained after the war by Truman and Eisenhower to pay off the cost of the war. We are in a similar situation now.

Of course this would require that we elect representatives that have pledged to put these restraints into affect. It could all be done in one election cycle.

What the Founding Fathers feared has come to past. They feared that a aristocracy of the wealthy would replace the aristocracy of birth rights that they rebelled against.

43. "The point is, ladies and gentleman, that greed -- for lack of a better word -- is good."
"Greed is right.

Greed works.

Greed clarifies, cuts through, and captures the essence of the evolutionary spirit.

Greed, in all of its forms -- greed for life, for money, for love, knowledge -- has marked the upward surge of mankind.

And greed -- you mark my words -- will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA".
