Billionaires for wealth care in san diego
Edited on Sun Oct-25-09 05:37 PM by nadinbrzezinski
well, my hubby and I went to the tea bagger event with the Billionaires from Wealth Care. We got separated early on, after a few confrontations with a few assholes... the woman kept shoving me, and decided to quit once I told her I'd file charges for assault. So we moved into the crowd and made our way to the front.

Well, we had a few interesting non violent confrontations. One guy told a woman to quit it since we had the right to be there just as she did, First Amendment. One guy said, you may have the first but I have the second. I told him, gee I also have the Second and are you making threats? He walked away.

Hubby had one tell him he served in Nam, and hubby went through his military career, and even told him lets compare IDs. So the guy said, most be medical retirement. So hubby pointed out he was diminishing somebody else's service...

We had a gal from France come and tell us she came form a SOCIALIST country... and got really aggressive once Tom told her that Patriots STAY and FIGHT, and don't run... for what they believe. Oh that didn't go very well with her. I mean being called a cut n'runner French... the stereotype worked.

My two favorites were though the old lady that started to sway. I asked her if she was OK. It was HOT, and she looked not good. She said she was. So I stood, with her permission, behind her to catch her if need be. Near the end she turns... didn't know libs cared for my health.

We have Ma'am, since oh 1935. Now that is a seed.

Now one guy got into a discussion over wealth with us... and hubby told him that he didn't know where the investments were, since the broker does that... it was funny. A group started going, well More profits for Microsoft and Apple... Oh sure, we are all for that, better for my portfolio! You could see wheels freezing.

Oh and the lady that took 45 minutes to figure out we were NOT on their side. Though you should know George Soros and Acorn paid for my signs. :sarcasm:

Now most of the group was told to leave... as I said we were separated, after a few violent confrontations (there is video of that)... but I can say we have a friendly spy here. Yep, in the middle they said, we have a GROUP FROM DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND here... so we cheered. So whoever you are, thank you... my portfolio loves you.

Oh and here is the truth, I was trained at one point to count crowds... so they were probably able to draw about 1200 people, I am high balling it a little ... promise you this, they will say much more... and more than just a few were not Tea Baggers.

Oh and to end here, there was also the line that we DU'ers were like the Brown shirts, at which point we both went yeah, Jews for Hitler... that got a chuckle from a few as they realized the contradiction.

Oh and pointing does help... while laughing.

Just remember to be respectful and not interrupt speakers ok.

Oh and I hate to do this...

Four African American in that crowd and perhaps three hispanics. Two of the African Americns were on the stage by the way. It was mostly white and older... oh five kids.

Oh and they kept insisting they were not racists...

Damn should have taken more notes.

2. Pretty hard core right wingers
believe it or not a lady said, WHY ARE YOU RUINING OUR PARTY?

Well if a couple folks from the opposition can ruin the party... I guess there are some issues.

4. They call that a "party"? The dentist's chair would be more fun than being around teabaggers.

5. Some are actually not that bad... but a few are worst than a root canal
Some of the folks are there because they don't agree with the direction of the country, but are willing to agree to disagree and move on.

12. 1200, the problem is that some folks, or a few more than just some
were not tea baggers but counter protesters.

The UT actually reported 1000... but as I said that number includes counter protesters.

And I need a hat... and a gosh bag for the water.

I don't live anywhere near LA but I know there is a traffic jam there 24/7. Try again, teabaggers.

20. Funny line of the rally
"Every day that we delay the vote, is a victory for the Tea Bag Movement."

Bit lip... you silly fools, we seem close to 60 votes and an actual bill.

One person actually told us, I cannot afford the stick, or a sign.

We were dressed for success after all

Or the other favorite. "That dress is from a thrift store!"

"Well yes Ma'am, only fools buy full price!"

You knew she wanted to answer... but how do you answer that one!

29. Off topic but I hate looking at pictures of southern CA this time of year
It is rainy and ugly here. I am probably one of the few who hates fall. Sure it's kinda pretty but it's cold and winter is right around the corner. Plus the trees aren't nearly as pretty as they used to be, thanks to urban pollution.

Anyway, I am incredibly jealous of your palm trees and sunny sky. :)

76-78, formal wear and HOT and MUGGY do not mix.

We were dehydrated by the end of it.

Oh and the palm trees, they are imports. Our country side, natural, is thorny and DRY...

40. We did, in a way
I mean how gosh, we went and mingled with the commoners, and I did not even get a sign bearer... what will the friends at the afternoon tea (with crumpets of course) will think?

:-)

The funny thing is that we did speak of the issues, in a sarcastic way. I mean, all those pre existing conditions are good for MY income...

And in a way, some of these folks didn't know what to say... and were not sure we were on what side.

42. To print them no-less...
I have a sign boy, his name is GEorge Soros. Ironically I had to explain to my husband who George Soros is. After all Soros is not in the common lexicon... Makes sense that a man who has funded Democracy Projects across the world would be feared by these guys though.

Oh and aparently I got paid to be there as well... I guess the check is in the mail... as big as the one I got as a medic working for the Red Cross... in Tijuana. (Big fat ZERO)
