That was Barack Obama in 1996. You can barely get the guy to support civil unions now! My my my how things have changed.

1. Another inconvenient truth for the unrec crowd
Go ahead ... the "fierce advocates" can try to bury the facts, but you cannot win.

12. Exactly.
I agree with the sentiment behind the OP a hundred percent.

But someone starts making it about rec/unrec and I'm gonna do what I always do...unrec.

You agree with what the poster said, but he mentioned unrecs so you're going to unrec it anyway?

19. Agreeing or disagreeing with the OP has nothing to with rec/unrec.
Edited on Wed Nov-04-09 10:41 AM by Iggo
I rec/unrec based on whether or not I want a given thread to be featured on the front page.

Any thread with a rec vs unrec theme is gonna get unrecced by me.

Oh and: So's yer old man.

13. I was not an Obama supporter until he was the candidate, and even then he didn't exactly light my
fire. I have to say, however, that his descent into watered-down meh politics was a lot faster and deeper than even I might have guessed at. Total, total disappointment.

But, hey. He has to be center and moderate now.

Which means catering to hate filled bigots and handing out lives over for corporate profit.

Running for a national office does funny things to pols' policy positions.

This is not news, by any stretch of the imagination.

24. Out of the mouths of babes.
His daughter said it, "First black president huh, better be pretty good." That's his problem. He's too worried about his image and being a successful president to stand with the people that voted for him. Sorry but that's how I see him. I wish it weren't the case.
