Reid got assurance from her that she'll vote yes tonight for cloture, and the bill will come to the floor for debate.

10. There is NO public option. |
|
2% buy in to a 'government' program administrated by private insurance companies isn't a public option.

12. This is because she represents the people who voted her into office first |
|
and many of them are going to be angry because she has decided to make this difficult decision.
Give her a break. She represents a very conservative state.

I agree. Can't we just take it one step at a time? I'm reminded of something my husband once told me: Appreciate what you just got and don't jump in right away wanting something more. It's been very tough for Reid to get the bill this far, farther than anyone else since debate on health care began half a century ago. I'm a far left liberal but I can understand how compromises must be made. We seldom get all of what we want.

14. I will simply quote Edmund Burke to you on this one.. |

Your representative owes you, not his industry only, but his judgment; and he betrays instead of serving you if he sacrifices it to your opinion. - Edmund Burke

keeping them healthy isn't good business.

22. Wal-Mart spends almost nothing on insurance |
|
relatively speaking. Most of their workers are part-time, they receive no direct benefits in most cases. At best they have the opportunity to buy insurance on the company plan.

18. You do understand our form of representative government right? |
|
All senators are elected only by voters in their respective states and all house members are elected only by voters in their districts. The only national election is for President/Vice President.
