10. In this instance, I don't believe it was violence begets violence. I understand

the circumstances in which this cop shot Clemmens. I honestly think any of us might have responded the same way in this situation.

And that's quite a blanket judgment/opinion you state. I'm vehemently against the war and escalation, but again, in this particular circumstance, I'd rather have it end as it did than have another cop killed.

I didn't vote in the poll, by the way, because I don't consider death for a crime committed "justice".

There is no evidence whatsoever that Afghanistan is, ever was, or ever will be a threat to the United States of America.

There were eyewitnesses who watched the piece of shit Maurice Clemmons murder 4 cops in cold blood. He was wounded at that scene and when he was finally stopped, he had one of their weapons. No question of his guilt.

12. What do you mean by "innocent until proven guilty"?

What I mean when I say it is "the state should not impose penalties on someone accused of a crime until they have been convicted, beyond those necessary to bring them to trial".

13. Here's some evidence:

During the commission of the crime Clemmens was shot by one (or more?) of the 4 officers and wounded.

Police were told by those who were helping Clemmens escape that he had the gunshot wound.

When they got him he did indeed have the wound.

Don't know how he would have received a gunshot wound from one of the slain officer's guns unless he was the shooter. Do you?

Do you consider that evidence?

Look, I'm as suspicious of the police at times as anyone, but in this case people just need to read the facts and realize this was pretty much by the book and the police did nothing wrong.

I honestly had not had the time to follow it...that is what I meant about "not seeing the evidence". I admit, I am always suspicious of the police and their statements of fact. This situation seems to leave no doubt as to his guilt.

question. I'm usually suspicious, too.

Don 't know if you know, but it was one lone cop who shot him -- I think he acted as most of us would have in the same situation. I would have been scared to death, the only cop at 2 in the morning coming face to face with an armed person who had just killed 4 fellow officers. He said he told Clemmens to raise his hands but Clemmens started moving around the car (natch - what cop killer is going to surrender?).

Anyway, I think this case is one where the police are right and acted appropriately.

IMO, of course.
