I asked in the Travel Group, no answer. Can you help?
Have any DUers been on a Rick Steve's Tour? I am wondering if I can stretch the budget to take a trip this Spring. My late husband and I wanted to go to Italy. He would want me to go, I'm sure. Other trips we saved our money and traveled on a shoestring. I would have to scrimp even more. I feel if I don't go soon, my old bones will never make it.

If you have gone on one of his tours, what was it like? I have never been on a tour and am nervous about the prospects. We were always independent travelers.

Thanks

3. Haven't been on one of his organized tours...didn't know he offered those, but
I have used his self-guided tours (such as the Rome night walk) and found it helpful and interesting.

4. If you look on his website,
you can order a free DVD which shows a typical trip, with lots of information from both Rick and the tour group. I think his tours would be a great deal. He wants to turn people into independent travelers, so I think you'd fit in perfectly. I know if I had the money, I'd go in a heartbeat.

6. This is the type of info I need. I don't want to be alone.
I am used to traveling with my husband and, without him, I feel I would need to share the amazing things to do and see with someone. I hate to plan a trip alone and wondered if his tours would be good for me. We had read his books and followed his travel tips for years.

One of the highlights of our last years together was our trips, the last one was 3 weeks before he died two years ago.

7. Why Don't You Call Rick Steve's Company - I Believe It's Located In The Seattle Area........
tell them your concerns and ask them to make recommendations for which tour of theirs would be most suited for you. Perhaps there are other people in the same situation as you and if put together can make for a wonderful experience.

If you watched Rick's programs and read his books and go to his website - he is all about making the experience one that you'd never forget.

Don't be so apprehensive - think of it as a new adventure.
