Andrew Sullivan lets Cheney have it
The former vice president, the man who imported torture into the American constitutional system, failed to capture bin Laden, invaded a country under false pretenses, allowed the Afghanistan campaign to disintegrate, and added $5 trillion to the next generation's debt burden, is attacking a sitting president on a day he announces a critical military strategy in front of his troops.

It is, again, a breathtaking piece of dishonor from this bitter, angry man. To accuse your successor of "weakness" because he has actually conscientiously tried to figure out the right thing to do in a war Cheney and Bush clearly botched is a new low in American politics and the partisan politicization of war and peace.

3. Glad he's finally seen the light

5. K&R
Cheney has no credibility whatsoever. Why does the media continually feature what he has to say?

7. That's what I'd like to know. I don't believe there has ever been
a former vp who was as vindictively vocal as cheney has been. The fact that his credibility has been lost long ago seems to be lost also on the media.

6. Cheney is as low as they come.
He is beneath contempt. A vile excuse for a human being and the very reason we are suffering through the worst time our country has seen since who knows when. I find him to be the epitome of evil and the best example that can be found to define it. If there were any justice, he would shuffle off of this mortal coil, hopefully to meet the karmic consequences of his actions. And I am ashamed of myself for allowing his evil to actually take me to a place where I wish for a person to cease to exist. At the very least he is a traitor and a war criminal. The sheer unmitigated gaul of him to actually speak out against Obama's every decision is something so ridiculous to the dwindling numbers of actual sane people out there, that it baffles the mind that anyone would even take his arrogant, self serving, ideology seriously at all.

8. Do you think the reason
cheney is so so against having this terrorist tried in New York in an open court is, he is afraid, so darn afraid that he is going to tell all the torture that cheney pushed bush into allowing. He is afraid. Very afraid that all his nefarious deeds will come to light.

11. Bingo on bitter and afraid and here's why . . .
"And what Cheney fears - for he is no fool - is that the trial will also reveal Cheney's torture regime, how it distorted intelligence, prevented bringing suspects to justice and tarred the US for ever as a country that now does what its enemies used to do: abuse, torture and mistreat prisoners in wartime."

12. It is time to investigate
and prosecute the former Vice President & President for their multiple crimes against the constitution, such as torture and conducting an illegal war against a sovereign nation.

Maybe Obama can put it back "on the table". If nothing is done, then this poor excuse for a human, Dick Cheney is going to continue to undermine the well-being of our country. This is what happens when justice is not pursued and criminals are not punished.
