After all, that argument is about as coherent as the argument that the current healthcare bill should be defeated because it too is a "giant industry bailout."

2. Ironically there is some truth in that
since prices are made artificially higher by the combination of driving family farms out of business, and the still-in-place (but mind-bogglingly stupid) practice of paying people not to grow food or raise livestock.

Which leaves food stamps as the last bulwark between where we are now and food riots in our cities.
