Just because I disagree with one policy, does not mean I can't vote for a candidate!
Just because I don’t believe with in this escalation doesn’t mean that I don’t support most of what Obama stands for. There’s definitely enough to vote for the guy, particularly against a Republican.

All a vote means is that I prefer this candidate over the other options. It doesn’t mean that I support 100% of the candidate’s ideas.

Why is this so difficult to understand?

1. So what issues are more important to you than the lives of our soldiers and
the Afghanistan people and the Billions of $$$ spent on these wars that have bankrupted our country?

2. I hear ya, I don't know what they're thinking
They have some truly warped notions about what a vote means and what "support" means for that matter.

3. I didn't support staying in ...
Afghanistan when I voted for Obama either. I don't support Afghanistan or Iraq now. The alternative was John McCain the Bush clone with attitude. Besides, I did support the other promises Obama made during his campaign, but those promises have not been kept.

So now I don't support him at all. If he is going to change that, he needs to start acting more like a progressive and less like the whole world is a Republican tea party that he has secretly been invited to while the rest of us wonder what happened to him.

5. Does that go for any policy we might disagree with
Or is there a litmus test that forbid disagreement with certain policies?

8. Sorry, don't have one in mind
I'm asking if you believe there are certain fundamental issues/principles that one can't be against and consider yourself progressive.

11. I think these labels are pretty meaningless
Edited on Thu Dec-03-09 11:57 AM by Cant trust em
I'd hope that people vote their conscience and then find the label that fits those values.

As for the single issue that breaks the camel's back, it's probably different for different people. I'd probably be considered center-left, so I'm not sure what that issue would be for someone who considers themselves progressive.

9. Well it was either vote for him or not vote, and not voting was a vote
for McCain IMO. What are you to do?

10. everyone is free to choose who they vote for(or not) based on their own parameters...
some policy decisions carry more weight than others, based on each person's personal values.
for some people, disagreeing with one policy definitely means they can't vote for a candidate.

vote however you wish.

i do.
