Fox crops Jon Stewart quote to suggest "Climategate" emails made him a global warming denier
Fox & Friends crops Jon Stewart quote to suggest "Climategate" emails made him a global warming denier

While discussing the purported "Climategate" emails stolen from the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) at the University of East Anglia, Steve Doocy claimed that Jon Stewart "really took a shot at Al Gore," then aired a clip of Stewart stating, "Poor Al Gore. Global warming completely debunked via the very Internet you invented." But Doocy -- in a possible violation of a recent Fox News memo on "Quality Control" -- did not air Stewart's subsequent statement in which he said the emails don't "disprove global warming," but do offer ammunition to global warming deniers.

9. Well, those climate change scientists can now officially suck it
When the comedian host of a fake news show makes a tongue-in-cheek pronouncement on your work on climate change, you've pretty much had the course. Peer-reviewed journals? Worthless. The satiric observation of Jon Stewart as peddled by Fox? Devastating!

Well, that is if you're a regular viewer of Fox programming. For those of us with more than three functioning brain cells, it's something else.

5. this same thing happened on CBC's national news last night
I thought Canadians understood The Daily Show, but whoever produced that segment apparently doesn't.

6. Fox crops "HackerGate" e-mails to deny climate change

It's so pathetic how Stewart's use of irony is lost on the foxoids. His play on the "Gore invented global warming"- "Gore invented the internet" myths went right over their heads.

12. they were using tree ring data, not themometer data; emails DO NOT undermine the overwhelming eviden
the East Anglia scientists were dismayed that the tree ring carbon methodology of detecting temperature changes showed consistently rising global temps, but a 3 yr period of some temp decline...then continued rising....

HOWEVER: other methods, such as simply using recorded temps as shown by themometers, show only consistently rising temps......

the emails do not in any way undermine the massive, overwhelming evidence showing global climate change

but deniers will jump at anything
