The disillusionment is palpable. The broken promises, the sloth, the ineffectiveness, the Wall Street cronyism, the failure to stand-up to GOP bullies and a disingenuous MSM.

So who is your pick to succeed He-Who-Has-So-Utterly-Broken-Your-Heart?

A) Former AK Gov. Sarah Palin

B) MN Gov. Tim Pawlenty

C) Former MA Gov. Mitt Romney

D) Former TX Gov. Rick Perry


Surely, these will be the people to fulfill your dreams of gay rights, abortion coverage, healthcare reform, environmental stewardship and ending the wars without end.

Who knows, maybe in 2010 they'll also get a congress that will work for them unlike what Obama endures now.

1. there was a great deal of acrimony vs Hillary in the last primary. I was an Obama voter but even I was distressed at the level of rancor aimed at her...some of it bordering on sexist.

2. The GOP will say--and deservedly so--"If Hillary so much better than Obama why didn't you run Hillary in 2008?"

Nobody is going to say, "We made a mistake we deeply regret." We'd be savaged.

We will say, "He was the person we needed at this time."

To wit we'll hear, "So what changed?"

What are we going to say? "It's all better now, crisis over."

Obama and the right have economic policies that more often resemble each other than they are different.

They both believe in free market ideology, with trickle down the underpinning of every thing they do.

Thats why Obama's policies in dealing with the economic crisis have been almost completely targeted at securing the wealthy so far.

Eventually he might really try to directly aid the rest of us (and no, $16 per week in tax cuts isnt much help), but that will only be if he finds he has no choice because the wealthy find themselves needing more money spent by the rest of us so they can continue increasing their bank accounts.

Obama has not broken my heart in any way whatsoever. He is a lot more conservative than I expected, but he is dealing with the really difficult problems all of our presidents since LBJ put on hold, and it seems what he is doing is starting to work. I did not expect immediate radical change to the US government-it does not work that way. I did expect better from our Democrats in congress, but that's another thread.
