Marriage contract built on incentives.
I know, I know, it's a rich man's thang, I just can't understand. Yet, I think it says all there is to say about Tiger's values. From his relationships with Nike, Chevron and Dubai, right down to his marriage, Tiger's values have never been clearer. $$$$$$$$$

Details of Elin Woods' newly rewritten prenup emerge
By Jay Busbee

Elin and Tiger Woods had a prenuptial agreement, as expected. The couple is undergoing marital counseling, as you'd also expect. And now The Daily Beast is reporting that Elin Woods is renegotiating that prenup to get an immediate $5 million payout from her husband and as much as $55 million more to stay with him for two more years.

The initial prenup was worth $20 million after 10 years of marriage. However, the Chicago Sun-Times' Bill Zwecker has reported that Elin Woods will receive an immediate payment "into an account she alone controls," and that the 10-year timeframe -- which began when they married in 2004 -- has been shortened and the value increased "substantially."

The Daily Beast quotes "a lawyer familiar with the couple's negotiations" in reporting that the term of the prenup has been shortened to seven years, and that a series of staggered payments could increase the total value to $75 million.

But apparently there's also a behavioral component to all this: Elin Woods must "be a dutiful wife in showing up with him at social events and in public as if they were still the perfect couple, and sign a nondisclosure form that will prevent her from ever telling her story."

It's important to note that to date, there's no concrete evidence that Elin Woods has ever been anything but the perfectly dutiful golf wife. I'm sure the Woodses would like nothing more than to portray domestic calm to the world, and Elin Woods now apparently has several million more reasons to do just that.

3. Sadly or not, he became a franchise a while ago.
Price you pay being the elite and leveraging your personhood with $$$.

Tiger is going to be even more successful (so long as his golf skills don't suffer) when this dust settles. $75 million is a few months' pay.

free-pass by locking her in for 10 years. In other words, he had reason to believe there was no $$$$$ downside to philandering.

EDIT: the first attempt FAIL! lol

5. That is disgusting and pathetic. Talk about an empty suit.
It'd be interesting to know if Elin actually loved him or whether she just saw a profitable arrangement.

7. Elin it's special. I suspect he'll be paying them all 7 figures
Seems Rachel isn't about to play nice. Possibly heard what Elin is getting paid and now wants more. I don't think this story ends here. I wonder how much Tiger is willing to shill out before he decides to cut his losses.

Sources say in the wee hours of the morning yesterday, after many phone calls back and forth between Rachel, Tiger and their reps, Rachel decided not to come out fighting at a news conference. She walked away without taking a cent from Tiger Woods. One very connected source said, "This was absolutely not about money."

Sources say Rachel became "scared for her safety" because she knows so much about Tiger, his alleged affairs and a variety of other Woods matters. We're told Tiger confided in Rachel ... she knows specifics about "other women," as well as information about Tiger's marriage.

The sources were quick to point out, Rachel does not fear Tiger, as much as she fears all the other people caught in what is becoming a very large net.

8. man... i hope those easy low-class lays were worth it for him
i know it's all monopoly money for Tiger at this point, but $55 mil?? ouch!

dude, honestly...just forget the carefully controlled public/corporate image, divorce the wifey for the pre-agreed $20 mil payout, AND PLAY THE FUCKING FIELD with bachelor impunity...that's what you should have been doing in the first place, that's what most of the rest of us would do in your shoes, and the image reversal will probably earn you more fans than it loses...

only this time please remember; you ARE Tiger Woods after all -- no more of the fugly girls looking for their 15 mins...set your sights on the most desirable women in Hollywood, and go to work...

9. It's not going to work
>dude, honestly...just forget the carefully controlled public/corporate image, divorce the wifey for the pre-agreed $20 mil payout, AND PLAY THE FUCKING FIELD with bachelor impunity.<

Part of the reason why he has the fortune he does is due to his endorsements. He makes exponentially more in endorsements than he ever did on a golf course. Companies tend to become nervous when their bazillion-dollar "face of whatever" is acting like one big hormone. After all, it's going to be difficult for Tiger Woods to endorse ANY product used or purchased by females between oh, 25-49 (target marketing demographic,) for quite some time. Let's just say there won't be any Gillette or whatever golf balls he hawks (Titleist, right?) making their way into my shopping cart for Mr. Missy Vixen.

I'd also submit that Tiger isn't attractive to the "most desirable women in Hollywood", seeing as he couldn't seem to attract any of them. He goes after those who go after him. In other words, he's lazy, stuck on himself, and probably isn't great in bed, either.

10. IMHO
Elin's first mistake was a) signing the prenup at all. She'll never be an equal partner in that marriage. Her second mistake was not insisting on a SIZABLE payout if he is proven to have cheated on her. For him, $100 million is a parking ticket.

In all appearances, she has been a devoted and loving wife. He seems to think that isn't important. The only thing that's going to make him hurt the way he hurt her is surrendering a huge sum of money.

13. Boy, that's a helluva way to live your life
I'd rather be me - poor, but rich in other life-living ways.

I haven't paid much attention to his story, and didn't know his wife's name until I read this post.

From the TV nooze snippets, I kept wondering why they kept mentioning Elle Woods! Really! It confused me.
