Well... the freeps call it that, anyway. I can just see them popping little chubbies over the pseudo-military slang.
Had the first of many tiny vigils/demonstrations against the Vietghanistan escalation in our tiny desert town full of retireds and various desert-rat (gentle) whackjobs.
Only 3 of us, but we have commitments for more next week. And more when more of us snowbirds arrive. We're the retreads from the anti-Iraq War group here.
We got NO... I repeat... NO negative comments, thumbs-down, or bird-flipping. We did get a lot of honks, waves, thumbs-up, clenched-fist salutes, and approving comments.
This area is rural desert, represented in Congress by a RW Repub.
We even had a couple on bicycles - self described as Conservative Repubs - tell us they agree completely that the Afghan thing is a mess, and that we should get out. They did, of course, chide us about voting for Obama. We defended our votes as better than for McCain.
The posting here on DU and other places about Obama gambling his presidency on turning this thing around is incorrect. He's not gambling only his presidency.. he's gambling the whole future of this country. If he loses, he looks like a dumbshit in the history books, and we'll be living in a Republican controlled disaster.
