Steve Pagluica is a candidate for the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts. It's amazing to me that he could even be considered for this Democratic Primary by any self-respecting Massachusetts Democrat.
When his mentor, Mitt Romney, the turn coat, flip-flopping, union busting, self-righteous asshole ran against Ted Kennedy for the U.S. Senate, the toughest of Ted's fights, Steve Pagliuca's wife served as the campaign treasurer for Romney and Pagliuca campaigned hard for Mitt.
In 2004, when Massachusetts' other U.S. Senator, John Kerry, ran for President against the worst sitting president ever, George W. Bush, Pagliuca contributed $25,000 to the Bush campaign.
now, we are talking about a Democratic primary in "Big Blue", the most Democratic of any double digit electoral state. how can anyone take this guy seriously?
I see that Pagliuca has adds all over DU. I'm assuming they only appear on Massachusetts computers (although with this guy's Bain Capital wealth, anything's possible).
Maybe he has had a political Epiphany. I doubt it. In a recent debate, he said that the $25,000 contribution to Bush was something he regretted. But he did not sever ties with Mitt. I'm wondering if he by some chance was elected, but even if he is not, if Mitt Romney was the Republican nominee facing off against President Obama, would Pagliuca be with us? I doubt it. Everything he has he owes to Romney.
In closing, my DU Friends from Massachusetts (the only state to vote against Nixon in 1972) please vote this Tuesday and choose a progressive we can trust. Of the four candidates, you have three choices.
