ThinkProgess has documented how the private health insurance industry is waging a duplicitous, “two-faced” campaign to kill health reform. Because the industry understands that the public views it in a largely negative light, the industry presents itself as proactively working hand-in-hand with legislators to produce reform. However, behind the scenes, the industry is coordinating a massive effort to kill all reform — employing attacks from front groups, allied politicians, think tanks, lobbyists, and right-wing media.

3. Right to life, which is one of our credos, would make any effort to

destroy health care reform unconstitutional IMHO. Of course I'm not a lawyer so I don't know legally how that would stand. One little law, however, would fix it. This law is in place in every country that has a meaningful, fiscally responsible and comprehensive basic health care. Private insurance companies, by law, are forbidden to offer basic health insurance. In some countries that have limited public insurance, insurance can only offer what the public plan doesn't. We need to do that here so we can put in a public plan that is meaningful and cuts out the parasitic middle men to our health benefits.

5. And if they should succeed it would have to include all government

medical programs. Medicaid? Medicare? Indian Health? VA? I doubt that there is anyone on the SCOTUS brave enough to do that.
