So I go to Hawaii and what do I find? minorities Shit I thought it was part of America. I didn't know I was going to have to deal with brown people! Just because I have travelled all over the world and Hawaiians are in general the nicest people I have ever met doesn't mean I don't have anything to worry about. I mean shit.. they're brown! And I saw a few asians too. Most of them driving poorly and taking pictures. What is the world coming to?

And what the fuck is up with this word Mahalo? All these crazy brown people keep saying that word. I walk in they say Mahalo, I walk out they say Mahalo, I hand them money they say Mahalo. Is Mahalo Hawaiian for Whitey? Man I have had enough of this place I'm going to Idaho where they speak ENGLISH!

SURF:
30-40 ft.
6-8 times overhead with occasional 45 ft.
and poor to fair conditions.

This Morning's Surf Report:Massive new swell with unfavorable north wind onshore conditions this morning. Most spots have surf heights in the whopping 35 to 40 foot face value range with some sets topping off at 50 feet. The outer reefs are seeing some larger sets as well so use extreme caution if you are entering the water today. Light north winds are making for ugly/broken conditions for country shorelines today.

WEATHER:
Partly sunny with scattered showers in the morning... Then mostly sunny with isolated showers in the afternoon. Highs around 79. North winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent.

8. hawaii has some seriously weird racial issues

at least if one is not used to it (i am. i used to live hawaii).

samoans and tongans generally do not like each other. many from the mainland can't even tell the difference.

"locals" (which usually implies mixed race heritage, that grew up in hawaii) don't like the japanese (tourists and japanese american residents) to some extent. they are amongst the richest of the racial groups, and arguably hold the most power (my police dept. administration was predominantly japanese american).

locals usually rag on haoles, but it's not so much the "white thing" as it is the "mainland thing". although, if you are a kid, growing up blonde in the hawaii public school system, you gonna get false cracked a lot. you learn how to fight early.

everybody makes fun of the portugese, but it's kind of good natured, like "polack" jokes.
