Enabler - one that enables another to achieve an end; especially : one who enables another to persist in self-destructive behavior (as substance abuse) by providing excuses or by making it possible to avoid the consequences of such behavior
Original HHS appointment Tom Daschle - Former Democratic Senate Majority leader, after losing re-election was recruited by Bob Dole to work for Alston and Bird a lobbying firm making 2 million dollars a year. Major client was the Health Insurance Industry. Appointment blocked not over this, but for screwing up his tax return.
Dick Gephardt - Former House minority leader, formed his own consulting/lobbying group. After spending years lobbying for a congressional resolution condemning the Armenian Genocide now lobbies against the resolution because Turkey is one of his clients. Serves on the Board of Directors of Ford Motor Company and is a major lobbyist for big Pharma.
Two examples of former democratic leaders, after leaving office they have turned their public service to multi-million dollar a year lobbying gigs. The destructive behavior isn't bad for Dick or Tom, but it is dangerous to the American people. If anyone thinks any of these guys, have your best interest at heart, you are suffering from a delusion. The democratic party is full of pragmatic men and women, pragmatic about their own futures.
I could make a longer OP, but I like to keep these things short and sweet and I don't feel like starting a fight over what Bill Clinton has been up to since leaving the White House.
