I voted to change my Christmas tree this year

The family was in DC earlier this year and decided to purchase something to add a little bit of change to our Christmas tree. So what do you think of our new ornament? After watching the Polar Express the kids like to ring the ornament and say They Believe.

We bought it at a store at Dulles Airport. I think it was called America Store or something like that.

2. Uh, oh....major problem

If my dad were alive and saw that, he'd be horrified...you have two ornaments right next to each other...

gotta space 'em out better!!!

Yeah, he was a bit of a perfectionist...tried to get us all to place the hangy tinsel icicles one by one on the branches...we kids just wanted to throw them willy-nilly.


Otherwise, I like the choice of ornaments, including the black lab. Looks like my Amy, who died in June at the age of 13.


PS...maybe you can find some ornaments of the rest of the Obama family and make it complete

4. My Dad made us do the icle thing too. When I got married, my wife

made him put them on the tree in clumps (like real icicles) and made him admit that they looked better in clumps. It was pretty funny.

7. Caution: thread hijack ahead! I LOVE icicles, but they look best if you grab a handful, then

spread them over the branches by moving your hand over the branch.

5. I've got a framed picture of the President and first lady under our tree

Our 31 month grand daughter pointed at it the other evening and said President Obama as she was smiling. She's figured that out on her own as I don't believe I should teach her anything political or religous, let her decide what to believe on her own as she grows up. Answer her questions but not dictate
