the slimy bastard in the Senate race next year, but I'm not holding my breath.

4. So Rick Warren is only concerned about the incarceration of people who KNOW
people are gay? No problem with incarcerating (or worse) gay people themselves?

I guess whatever it says in the Bible against homosexuality (and I always wonder, if it's there, what homophobe was able to insert that in the writings...) is more important than the thou shalt not kill thing. :eyes:

8. Here is a fact about the anti gay writers in the Bible
it is not a comfortable fact for many. Two writers speak against gay people in the Bible, both of whom spend far more words in their passionate support of slavery, one of them urges slaves to see their masters as God's proxy, and serve the master as if he were God. That is the New Testament book that Christians quote against gay people. It is filled with praise of slavery. It is not possible to quote anti gay verses that do not come from slavery advocates. The homophobes who wrote that crap were also slavers, sexists of the worst kind, proponents of stoning of 'heretics' (such as those who opposed slavery) and others. They did not insert those things, those are the basis of their teachings covering endless pages about slaves and masters and killing kids for back talking and all of that.

9. Yikes! This is the NEW Testament?
Being raised Catholic we weren't big on the Bible, but my general sense is OT is smite, kill, sacrifice, the NT was love, do unto others, etc.

But thanks for the education -- interesting (and yes, disturbing).

11. Which book is that in? Was it one of the ones written by Paul?
Because every other BS tenet in the New Testament I remember was from Paul.
