in early September. But I think it "officially" begins in mid-late November.

8. Honey, The War on Christmas started well before Halloween.

When I saw them selling Christmas trees and decorations BEFORE Halloween in my home town, I ran over* a Christmas tree on October 16th at about 9:00 PM.

I'd say, unless someone else took a shot before that date, that was the date it started this year.



*it had fallen out of one of the truck and landed on the road and I didn't see it, but it still counts. :evilgrin:

seriously, I saw a reference to this invented "war" way back in the spring (of course, living down the road from fungus (aka "focus on the family" and new life does that. after all, it is fungus that puts out the list of all the good little retailers who say "merry christmas. note to self--time for another call to fungus about their list)
