We shouldn't depend on the President or the Congress to do the things that we need to do

Yes, President Obama is a good man and he was the best person to send to the White House. But, I'm convinced that the problems in American policies lie less with him and our politicians, than in what the American people are willing to tolerate.

What would it take to take all that pent-up anger and disappointment and translate it into action?

What would it take to turn that into mass action which, under a steady onslaught, is the only thing that power will concede to in a democracy?

What will it take to use the fight for the rights of the non-hetero minority and convince the hetero majority that if the rights of the least of us are repressed, so are the rights of us all?

How are we going to rearrange the political and economic system of war and vastly unequal wealth versus poverty, fundamentally, to that for sustained peace and prosperity for all?

We shouldn't expect the White House or the Congress to answer those questions. And I really can't fathom why anyone can't understand that... Especially, if they claim that they've been paying attention all this time.

To those folks I say, follow the money. That's how politics works in the absence of strong voices.

Also, WE should find a way to answer those earlier questions ourselves. Otherwise, those bad things are really happening in all of our names.

And instead of blaming politicians and the businessmen whose interests are being served, we should blame ourselves for sitting to the side and crying.

What so we need to do and can we do it at all?

but HAVES vs. HAVE-NOTS. They won't give up what they have, it'll have to be taken, IMO.
