I'm a big Russ fan and would've supported him enthusiastically in 2008. But he decided not to run. I'm not sure why.

As for Grayson, he says all the right things and I like his background as an attorney specializing in whistleblower cases. But he's only been on my radar for a relatively short period of time (less than six months), so it's difficult to say how he'll fare (with me at least) over the long haul.

Were either or both to run as third party candidates, they would generate at most 4-6% of the electorate were things to more dramatically collapse but if thing were to improve even slightly or more, that percentage would fall to 2-4%, tops.

If Barack Obama wants renomination in 2012 I don't see anyone blocking his path.
