I've been catching the drift on the "evil" comments, and how we are war mongers...

I've also been trying to finish Zinn's book forever, meanwhile, and I side against those who parse their words in support of Obama's "evil" comments on GD. Well, he's made it easier on me... I understand this premiers tonight and hope everyone who can will watch.

It's the PEOPLE'S history of the world.

I'm gonna bet the TV series puts this conversation in better perspective. I have to go to work 12 hours, and be back with my popcorn.

1. Zinn has never had an audience this big
If the program is true to the book, it should be good.

Zinn also recently published a 2-volume "A Young People's History of the United States," based on his "A People's History of the United States," but updated to include the "war on terror."

The History Channel program, and Zinn's young people's books, were condemned as being an attempt to promote socialism. I hope that is true, and I hope it works.

4. Ahhh! I know I shouldn't have worded that OP that early in the morning
After all of this, I didn't get to watch it in its entirety... (sigh)

2. Dont forget...
Rethinking Mathematics: Teaching Social Justice by the Numbers

Honestly, I am weirded out by the idea that math is the time for political indoctrination from any philosophy.

3. Zinn's books were eye openers for me. Really looking forward to this too!
But alas, I'm doing the 12 hour thing tomorrow and will need to record it.

I'm quite fortunate to live in his hometown area and have been able to hear him
speak in public often. He is an American treasure, and we are lucky to have him
on our side.
