The importance of cheaper drugs.
I believe that one of the most important changes that needs to be made is to allow importation of Canadian drugs or to force Big PHarma to reduce their prices.

If someone has health insurance or happens to be able to afford some type of trip to a doctor, many times the required drugs are far out of reach of their budget. It's an endless trap. You save enough money for a trip to the doctor only to find out that you can't afford the cure.

The early intervention could prevent much greater problems that require more costly methods later on. Then off to use the fabled 'Emergency room Care Plan' that the GOP has touted. No matter that these trips raise the cost of health care for everyone.

Drugs aren't a panacea. However, there are a lot of basic problems that can be cured or the effects held in check. People don't have to live in unending misery.

The dug pricing problem should have been one of the first priorities not deals.

I suffer from depression. Those drugs that help can be prohibitively expensive. When I look them up at Canadian Parmacies, the costs are so much lower it's ridiculous. The money I could save could be put to other needed uses. I'm sure a lot of people are in this boat.

BRING THE PRICES DOWN!!

4. drugs for seniors
For the past several years, I've been getting my most expensive drugs from a Canadian pharmacy. Up to 90 days can be legally imported. Otherwise, my doc prescribes generics. She did want me to take the brand Spiriva, not the generic, and I got it from Canada for one-third the price in the US. I also get the generic Singulair, which you can't get in the US, from Canada. This year I have not gone into the donut hole and have over a thousand dollars left in my Part D plan to use. Of course I can't use all that the rest of this year. The first year of Part D I went into the donut hole in August and my monthly costs for drugs jumped to almost a thousand dollars a month.
