Lieberman: Strip out major reform and I'll vote for health bill

Sen. Joe Lieberman isn't backing down from his demand that health care reform not include a public option but now he has a few more requirements.

"You have to take out the Medicare buy-in. You have to forget about the public option. You probably have to take out the class act which was a whole new entitlement program that will in future years put us further into the deficit," Lieberman told CBS' Bob Schieffer Sunday.

"I want to tell you, we could pass a health care reform bill this week with more than 60 votes and it would be bipartisan if we just took a few things out of the bill as it is today," said Lieberman.

2. So you'd completely emasculate an already neutered bill, Joe?

3. We could pass a health care bill TODAY
as long as there is nothing in it that reforms health care.

4. Lieberman won't be happy with any bill that does not strip the last penny out of the last
middle or working class citizen and give it to the private health insurance cartels. Oh, yeah. It better not require those insurance companies to provide any coverage, either.

6. I wish people would mention Lieberman's insurance contributions more
mostly because he hates it. I heard him asked about it and he said he was insulted.

I heard Sherrod Brown bring it up, and Ron Reagan, and thought I like that, I wish more people would bring that up.

10. That and his wife's ties to the industry
Wonder if he has high blood pressure? Stressing him a little might help.

12. How far are we going to bend over for this asshole?
Is there not a point where we say, No! to these people? I'm sorry, but a neutered HCR bill is not HCR at all. I'm done with kowtowing to the likes of Lieberman. Enough! Strip him of all his committee positions and let the chips fall where they may.

13. Here's Lieberman's idea
of health care reform that he can support - just mandate that everyone buy insurance. That is all. :sarcasm:

Probably don't even need the sarcasm.
