Now? If the health care reform is so important, why not take it to the brink and just do it?!

Do it now or we'll take all of your chairmanships next November.

You seem to show up in every thread about him. Is he one of your favorites? And you imply he's also courageous ('He called their bluff)?

He destroyed health care reform all by himself--what a brave man.

3. Chairmanship?
Hell, apparently we elected FUCKING JOE LIEBERMAN president last year! He's been handed more power than any of us could have ever imagined. WTF????

7. Mostly likely the good old boys who "go along to get along" will stand pat
with their fellow member in good standing.

8. It might not be so easy mid-session.
Reid would have to file a new organizing resolution in order to strip Lieberman of his chair.

This resolution is normally non-controversial, as parties generally do not interfere with the selection of the other party's committee assignments.

However, Lieberman could seek the aid of Republicans to block a new organizing resolution, and forestall any action by Reid until the start of the next Congress.

12. I was going to say six months ago, but why quibble...
They've allowed him to do his damage.

At this point, I'm not so concerned with Holy Joe's position as I am with Reid's.

11. They don't. The game is fixed and Joe must have pics of Reid with a hooker or something.

13. If they did, they'd have to find a new scapegoat to blame their failure on.

14. "Do it now or we'll take all of your chairmanships next November."
I'm sorry, but this is an empty threat. We could have made progressive and elected progressives LAST November, but we decided to focus on making "history" and selling collector's plates/t-shirts instead.

15. For doing exactly what they want him to do? Why would they?
Joe gets to be the bad guy, while they get to claim they had their hands ties AND serve their corporate donors. Joe will get a hero's welcome, don't worry.
