I think they are dancing as fast as they can to produce something that won't completely split the democratic party.
Do you honestly believe they are going to extend Medicare? Hell, the repubs have been actively trying to eliminate it via one way or another for the past 40 years.
We are getting the big fire works and rockets show.
They want us to ooh and ahh just enough to pass what-ever-the-hell-kind-of-plan-that-will-make-us-think-that-we-got-something. When later on it will be revealed to be nothing.
Every plan that has been promoted has been shot down one way or another. Each on it's own watered down to nothing. The obstructionist repubs are having a heyday at Obama's "bipartisanship" bullshit. They bait him with carrot on stick only to pull it away time after time. They are the consummate bully and Obama or certainly harry reid enjoy being the sucker.
I'm done with all this BS. many will scream, "don't quit now, we are sooooo close!" or the others, "fine, screw you!" from the other side.
I'm tired of the flaming hoop jumping, the dog and pony shows, the yes one moment no the next type of charades.
They are playing the public for suckers. We are all so raw with anger, frustration, etc, that we are getting close to the point of, "we-will-take-anything-as-long-as-it's-labeled-public-option!!! Even if it really isn't!!! JUST GIVE US A FUCKING LABEL!!!!"
I don't want labels. I want health care. We all wanted single payer, but that was dead on arrival, the public option had mutated to the point of something so obscure and remotely familiar from it's original meaning that died a hopeless death, now we are being played yet again with, "the gang of 10 reached a super secret deal that has them all squirming with delight!!! Even Russ Feingold has a boner!!!", Bullshit.
But before what ever deal was made is even announced we are getting "lower medicare!!! Yes, that's the ticket!!! It's a public option!!! yes!!!" but they only want to lower it to 60 or maybe 55? WTF? That puts us right back to the start.
aka nothing has been achieved.
So I'm done. what ever we get, in what ever form, will be something so convoluted, so hard to understand, have so many fucked up amendments, defined into bizarre minutia as to who can have what when and how, that in the end, people will stay with their corporate bullshit health care plan just out of pure confusion and disgust.
It will be then that the insurance corps will loudly proclaiming from the decks of their yachts, "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!" banner and all.
Now get off my lawn!!!
