3. It's 12 degrees here
So it's way too cold to go outside for any length of time. So if the teabaggers want to stand outside and protest here, then they are indeed idiots.

25. and just watch ... the teabirthers go out in this weather, and contract
pneumonia ... and, since they're mostly over 65 and on public Medicare, we'd end up having to pay their hospital bills ...

5. I'm not sure that the leaders who don't give a damn about us would change their minds
if we took to the streets.

They already know we don't like it.

They already have laws and weapons to stop a crowd.

What leverage is there in marching?

Particularly when a march of thousands will be reported to the world as 'several hundred' or even 'several dozen' by the time it hits the news.

7. We're too polite.
We don't make obnoxious fools of ourselves thus gaining the attention of the "liberal" media that plasters us all over the airwaves 24/7. We must become drooling Neanderthals to strike fear into anyone who gives a shit about re-election.

6. The teabaggers ARE idiots.
The fact that sometimes they show up for a RW organized protest doesn't change that fact.

And I swear to god, if the Progressives keep talking about aligning themselves with Racist scum, the only thing accomplished will be the alienation of a good chunk of the most loyal Dems out there.

The Teabaggers practically had police escorts.

10. from my reading of history, they look a lot like
the original members of the SA. Angry, disillusioned, ill-informed, a small minority, led by crazy people, and creating problems for other political leaders.
They were so stupid that even Hitler had enough of them, and had their loudest leaders killed off.

15. imagine what WE could do if the media would call an 8-person protest "massive"
we HAVE marched, we HAVE protested, we HAVE put a million people in d.c.

and yet tea baggers get more attention.

seems like there's more to it than just protesting.

just sayin'.

20. Excellent point
When we hit the streets by the hundreds or thousands, we're just a focus group, a bunch of dirty fuckin' hippies stuck in the 60s. The only people shown are the kids with black bandanas over their faces or the street actors in the rainbow fright wigs. When the teabaggers turn out by the dozen (or A dozen), they get a respectful hearing and full coverage. If their message is unclear, the media will helpfully focus it all to a laser pinpoint for them.

But I'm sure it's only because we know how to work a keyboard.

10,000 people show up and the media calls it a million. When we go out a million show up and the media calls it 10,000.

It's a rigged game. Which is why I don't waste my time "protesting" anymore. Spent 8 years screaming, protesting, writing, phoning, and it didn't do a damn thing Bush still managed to fuck us into the ground.
