Nope. Crank up taxes, extend insurance to more kids.
Was quick and easy.
Hurt the big insurance companies with single payer, public option, etc? Well they just cannot afford that.
Make the people pay through taxes on something you don't want them to (thus a dwindling income to pay for it) and woooosh! It passes. Who cares that most people who smoke are lower income (as previous studies have shown) they have it coming to them, health care for kids by taxes.
But health care for all which might well hurt the big corps or wealthiest among us? Well hell, that is battle. We need to go slow, work together, etc and so on.
Those low income people who voted you in? I don't think they will be doing that again anytime soon.
