Advice needed about contacting representatives: |
|
I'm interested in DUers' takes on the best way to contact our reps: phone, email, letter . . . local office, D.C. office. I've tried them all and would like to get others' opinions.

1. I use email because it is easier for me to send when I want |
|
and don't have to wait for office hours. I get some responses from time to time.

That way I look like many more people than I actually am.
It's something that Republicans have been doing for years and I've finally caught on.
As they say; there's power in numbers.

3. A hand written letter is the best. Send it to the reps home office. |
|
Do Not send it to the Washington address. It will take weeks, if at all, to get to their office.
A hand written letter shows you are concerned enough to actually look for paper, pen and stamps.

5. Snail mail letters and calls to local offices |
|
Every Rep and Senator I've spoken to gives lots of weight to snail-mail letters.

I always get the feeling when I call that the kid on the other end of the line is sitting there rolling their eyes until I get finished. I called Schumer's office yesterday and they didn't even take my name or anything. Do they keep a tally of some sort?
I think I'm going to change over to snail mail.
