OK, I love Sanders and Feingold, but why isn't one of them-
or both of them- pulling a Lieberman and making demands of his own in exchange for their vote on cloture? I don't understand it.

3. Because they are holding to their principles.
Bernie was the one pushing the concept of "no break with the leadership or the caucus on procedural votes". Of course, he was referring to the piece of crap Lieberman and the blue dogs... but I'm sure that he isn't a hypocrite.

5. Because they are good people who won't "kill grandma"

Sanders and Feingold really don't want to be famous the vote that kills HCR... even sucky HCRINO. So they have no leverage.

Burris, on the other hand, seems to like being famous for anything.

6. Because they don't want to hurt Obama, and they don't want to hurt the party.

It's really that simple. I still hope that the Progressive Caucus in the House will vote against the reconciled bill if it doesn't include a "robust" public option, but they will probably cave and support the President.

It's sad, but that's the way it works.
