Burial shroud discovery raises further doubt about the Shroud of Turin.
A burial shroud found from the time of Jesus displays the type of fabric and the practices of the time. The weave and configuration are much different from the Shroud of Turin. The separate cloth for the head confirms what is known burial practices of the time.

And in addition, the weave of the shroud raises fresh doubts about the Shroud of Turin, which many people believe was used to wrap the body of Jesus.
According to researchers involved in the excavation and subsequent testing, the recently discovered shroud lends more credible evidence that the Shroud of Turin does not date to Roman times when Jesus died but from a later period.

Gibson said the remains of the man covered in the cloth consisted of different wrappings for the body and the head, which was consistent with burial practices of the era. He also said research had shown that the weave of the cloth was a simple one, much different from the more complex Shroud of Turin's.

6. A ridiculous claim
The Turin Shroud already has enough "doubt" for anyone who needs any... but this doesn't ADD any doubt to it.

Are they seriously trying to pretend that a single example of cloth proves how all cloth at the time was made? That maybe cheaper cloth had a simpler weave than more expensive cloth?

8. The shroud of Turin was not consistant with Hebrew burial practices of that time.
The cloth they found was from a well to do person's tomb. It was not a WalMart burial shroud. It was also in two parts, one to wrap the body, and one for the head. Anyway, chances are real good that Christ didn't have red paint running through his veins.

The man who made the shroud of Turin admitted to the fraud. Try this: Lay down on your back and put your arms and hands as you see on the shroud. Do they cover your genitals? Have you ever seen a bashful corpse?

The body was wrapped like they swaddle a baby. It makes it easier to carry the corpse to the tomb.

Notice no bones. Ancient Hebrews take the bones once the flesh leaves the bones and put them in ossuaries.
