This shit is getting out of hand. It really is.

These litmus tests about how progressive folks are, are BULLSHIT

These expectations of blind loyalty to the party/Obama are BULLSHIT

Shame on the White House for going after Dean.

Shame on so called progressives for calling anything not "pure" a corporate sell out and question the motives/character of those who practice pragmatic politics.

We DemocratsLiberalsProgressives have to learn how to be critical of one another without the demonizing and name calling that take place.

I don't care who did it first, I don't care who did it last, I don't care how justified some feel the demonizing and name calling is, it just needs to stop.

Today I'm mad at those calling the White House corporate tools and I'm equally pissed at the White House for going after Howard Dean.

Everyone needs to grow the fuck up and figure out how to work together.

That is all.

3. +10,000
We amounted to whatever leverage we might've had in this debate on health care. We never held any leverage over Republicans - it's impossible to negotiate with someone that wants nothing. The only thing we had was some public sentiment and each other. In destroying each other, we also destroyed our only chance to get the best bill possible.

Edited on Thu Dec-17-09 11:47 AM by xultar
Why post shit about needing a progressive liberal forum @ du and start dissing one another here.
Why diss all dems when Obama handed it to lieberman.

Edited on Thu Dec-17-09 11:41 AM by natrat
so it seems to be one big love fest for the right wing and corporations, so i'm not sure what any of our talk and the politicians talk means. Maybe it means absolutely nothing and is a waste of time.

10. ever try to build something with blocks as a kid & then another kid just
runs over & knocks it all down? What is the proper action for a parent or teacher to take in such a situation? Sit the wrecker down in time-out.

12. Call Obama and Dean and yell at them then
It's a tough world and you have to be able to take it.

Obama's a tough guy and he ignores it.

15. I only "demonize" in defensive mode.
People can disagree civilly.

And we do, as a look at the better exchanges shows.

But when I encounter a brain-dead obedience troll trying to disrupt a thread, then sorry, it's gotta be bug-squashin' time.

16. I'm not here to call anybody names
I'm not angry or bitter. I just don't believe in conservative democrats policies. I believe in progressive democratic policies. Simply put they lost me when they refused to fight for single payer or at the very least a public option for all. That's it. Plain and simple. Am I dissapointed? Yes. I'm not going to take to the streets and act like the tea baggers have. What I will do is actively seek out progressive democrats to vote for and when there are none to vote for I will vote third party. I'm not saying this to tick people off. That is just my vote and I am entitled to vote for whomever I want. I have been told that if the republicans win it will be my fault. I shouldn't have to vote for someone I don't believe in just to tow the party line. That's just not the way I vote and I will not be bullied into voting simply to tow the line. That's not who I am. Sorry.

But I won't lower myself to name-calling or ad hominem attacks.

20. That's all most of us want. The feelings of betrayal are very strong right now.
Perhaps it all will lead to new, constructive ways of doing things, once emotions have simmered down and intellect takes over.
