"What are you gonna do about it, vote for the republican?"
I feel like that's what the President is saying to me. He told us what we wanted to hear in order to raise money and get elected. When he got into office he became a different President.
Democrats run everything in government right now, and we still can't get what's needed to save this country. When are we going to have a super majority again like we have now and get another chance at this stuff? Maybe 10, 20 , 30 years? Maybe never? We get to a position that quite frankly, many on this board have never seen in their (short) lifetimes, and many worked very hard to get us here, and now can't understand why nothing has changed. I don't blame you for being pissed, I am too, but I have to say I'm not overly surprised. I am a bit more cynical when it comes to (most) politicians than some here.

But ya know what......"What are you gonna do about it, vote for the republican?"

6. You thought you were voting for FDR didn't you?
So did I. I didn't realize we had elected Bill Clinton.

I guess the signs were there all along. I just didn't want to see them.

7. This has nothing to do with "voting republican". You have a problem with people speaking out?
If people see something bad, as this legislation is, and speak out about it, that is a GOOD THING

That is how change happens.

There are more choices than just Democrat and republican

Democrats DO NOT run everything in the government. Where have you been. republicans are an exclusive party today, that is why there are very few moderate republicans left. The Democratic party accepts everyone, for better or worse, and for that reason alone, Democrats DO NOT run everything.

Incidently, lieberman is not a Democrat for your information

9. Some will, some won't vote, others vote 3rd party (not many)
Add it all up and Democrats will be in trouble.

Deservedly so. They are incompetent when it comes to governing for the people. They are as good as governing for the special interests as the Republicans. It is just that Republicans are a lot more honest about it.

I am surprised although I know I shouldn't be.

I knew Obama was a centrist and I was ok with that. However he is showing signs of being ineffective at best, which given his brilliant campaign is shocking.

Which makes me wonder if it isn't all part of a plan. I think something happens to a newly elected president. Is it crazy to think that the true powers that be (the corporatists) sit the new guy down and tell him the rules of the game.

10. Sneering dismissal does not make people vote for your candidate
In fact, that attitude discourages them from doing so.

I don't expect the Democratic party to learn from their own mistakes, though. If the Bush years didn't teach them to stop attacking the left, nothing will.

Enjoy President Palin, stupid motherfuckers.

12. Our so-called "democracy" looks more and more delusional
No matter who's in office, corporate corruption (big Pharma, big-box retail, military-industrial complex, etc.) wins -- the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer, and our country becomes WEAKER.

13. Through Rahm's Message Discipline team, he's explicity told us that, in those exact words
Then they wonder why all the "hate" and "whining" on an "anti-Obama" site.

Fuck them, they're sociopaths.

We'll carry signs of Peace and Love - and spell them all correctly ;)

Seriously, we need to become activists.

By passing NAFTA early during Bill Clinton's presidency, Democrats cut the legs out from under themselves for 1994 by alienating labor.

If so, what a shitty sales pitch. And people wonder why the base is pissed off.
