strange choice of words

I was flipping channels ,wound up on headline news,nothing is being said about the health care bill.Weird,anyway two heads were talking about climate change and the economy.Then they said this phase about five times in the course of five minutes.." The democrats are going to have a long night".I dunno about y'all but to say that particularly awkward phrase that many times in that short of a time makes me wonder.Remember
how bush double spoke to audiences?
A long night? Are the Dem's going to delay taking xmas vacations?

Or is it a veiled threat aimed at the progressives the corporate lovers and right-wingers even the ones that are fake Dem's,love to hate,and up until now were veiled about it?
