After all, everything has ground to a halt to cater to Mr. Lieberman's every whim. We've crossed over into that "pass something, anything" territory where you just know the end result will be a big fat present to industry, and screw the people paying the bills. And just like "don't ask, don't tell," and NAFTA (two other pieces of legislative shit) that were meant as half measures that would be fixed as soon as acceptance of gay people is more widespread, or those "side agreements" on labor and the environment are worked out, this bill will become the sine qua non of health care reform for decades to come.
