9. Funny you should say that. My son's car windows got busted

out and we are pretty sure it was his humongous Obama bumper sticker that caused it. Very conservative area that we live in too. So we decided there were other ways, and better ways, to support Obama and the dems.

3. Took mine off in 2008 when I was almost hit by a car that veered into my lane...

...so the passenger could hold up a handwritten sign reading "N***ER LOVER" - decided the stickers weren't worth getting killed over and tossed them out.

11. Last summer, my car was hit by a fully loaded semi. The car crashed into the median barrier

went over it (it was metal cables--this was NW Indiana) and into the ditch. Totaled the car and when I finally went to see the damage, my bumper sticker and my bumper were actually folded up and stored inside of it.

who was the only one present for this announcement, but the others have approved of her candidacy, as well, so...

I'm a bit of a fan of Poe myself. He doesn't seem to carry the negative "Democrat" baggage that Berkowitz and French have, the hyperpartisanship, plus I think he and Diane would make a very complementary ticket.

I like that so far Diane has no primary opposition since all the usual suspects are committed to other races, except for maybe Eric Croft who may be burned out on campaigning after the mayor's race.

The Obama stickers are on the refrigerator and filing cabinets so they'll still be in good shape for 2010's election (showing support). They'll be back on the car by September. Right now the only sticker I've got on reads: "FOX News - When facts don't matter."

16. Never had a bumper sticker on my car - used to wear an Obama button on my

hunting vest. It really confused people. Then Obama started to confuse me. I have several Obama tee shirts and more buttons and stickers in a drawer, all unworn as keepsakes. Might try selling them on eBay soon.

What choice did I have?

I've voted democrat in every single election since McGovern, each time it gets harder & harder because each time the "democrats" become more & more conservative and more & more corporate than the last Dem nominee.

Man, we'll NEVER see a FDR or JFK again....The democratic party is also another corporate party forever.

No peoples, workers or middle class liberal party ever....

We are forced to a two party system run by corporations benefit....but we knew this was going to happen and money would untimely win out....

Deep down in our brains, our sub-conscious, our feelings, our Psyche...since we first recognized the controlling aspects of society, before we knew as corporatism in our teens as we now know and define it and as I often saw it so clearly on acid, and it was clear as could be and it's all every bit of it as i saw is becoming a reality...Yes, we will be little corporate robots marching into factories, doing as we are told, don't make waves or else just be happy with the toys they give us....

We've got to put a stop this by fighting for what's right to the bitter end, no fucking around and compromising.

Yeah, I was really out of line and insensitive to people like taterguy when I posted my OP.

BTW - I lived in NYC for 12 years and didn't own a car during that time because I didn't really need one, what with the great public transportation. Strangely, I still got a few bumper stickers when Mondale and Dukakis ran for president, even though I didn't have a car to stick them on.

Mine are actually magnets, not stickers. I live in a pretty conservative area, and I love my car. The day after the election, I removed them from my car (and wifey's car too) and now one is displayed prominently on my refrigerator and the other is on my beer fridge in my basement.

I don't agree with, or even like, some of the crap that Obama has done, but he is my president and I'll support him. I don't, however, want my car vandalized (I worried about it even during the campaign) so I think my fridges are perfectly adequate to hold my magnets.

If I feel like supporting Obama during the '12 elections (which I probably will), I might just put them back on our cars as kind of a throwback support until we get current paraphernalia.

and because I live several miles from town and don't want to have to walk for hours to the grocery store with a stroller carrying my kids? What about the times I have to take my kids to the doctor or dentist? Should I start walking before dawn to make it to early afternoon appointments? Reliable public transit would be awesome for my errands, but where I live, it's just not an option. Therefore I bought a car I really like and I drive it when I have to go to town. I don't want my car keyed when I park it, so I took my Obama magnet off. I haven't abandoned any principles, I have simply taken a vandal's target off of my car. Furthermore, I resent being called lazy by someone who doesn't know me, my living situation, my family, or anything else about me. I am not lazy at all. I just don't live where I can realistically walk to a bus stop to catch a ride to town.

I am really happy with my house and the freedom that being out of town affords. It does, though, have some drawbacks like the inability to use any sort of public transit. That's why I bought the car that I don't want keyed. I've never complained about where I live because, frankly, I like where I live. Would I like my community to have a different political view? Of course. Do I take steps to avoid harm to my person, my family, and my property? Who doesn't?

Don't forget, this whole discussion started when you accused me of being "part of the problem" because I "love my things more than my principles". I don't feel that I am part of the problem, and like I said earlier, I haven't abandoned any principles... I simply want to keep my car from being keyed, and one step I've taken was to remove my Obama magnet.

If you have a problem with that, or with me because I value my property, than it is exactly that... your problem. Get over it.
