Cindy Sheehan Endorses Kucinich For President!
A packed and cheering crowd greeted U.S. Representative and presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, Sunday at St. Matthias Episcopal Church as he campaigned on a plan to end the war on Iraq.

Kucinich spent the weekend jetting from a large anti-war protest in Washington, D.C., Saturday to events in San Francisco and Los Angeles before addressing the crowd of supporters and peace activists Sunday afternoon in Whittier...

Kucinich said the U.S. presence is fueling insurgent activity and anti-American sentiments in the region.

"We've got to let the international community know that we want to get the troops out," Kucinich said in an interview. "This was an illegal war and there can be no peace until we're out. We can use existing funds to mobilize and bring them
home."

In a surprise appearance, anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan, whose son, Casey, was killed in Iraq in 2004, introduced Kucinich and praised him for being the only candidate to vote against the war and against all funding requests.

"I support him because he's the only peace candidate,"

10. I was there.
Cindy Sheehan, in her own modest way, has an electrifying presence. Before she even spoke, as she was walking to her seat, the whole room stood up to cheer her and thank her for attending.

Kucinich is also electrifying, not just for his ferocious integrity, but that man is a ball of energy! There was a stage upon which he could have spoken, but instead he spoke to us at ground level, close to the crowd. The only time he used the stage was when an audience member asked him if there was anything he could do to stop the military industrial complex. Kucinich said, "The short answer is yes. Let me show you the long answer". He leapt to the stage (we're talking about a four foot vertical jump!) and held his arms perpendicular to his body, dangling over the edge of the stage. As we held our breath, Kucinich smiled at us and yelled, "Look! NO STRINGS ATTACHED!" The crowd laughed heartily, then went nuts with applause.

I love this guy. He answered everyone's questions, some of them hard hitting, these were definitely not pre-screened plants. I was able to have him autograph my copy of A Prayer for America after the questions outside the church. I told him that reading it was what prompted me to vote for him in the 2004 primary. He looked me in the eye, thanked me and shook my hand. Dennis is the real Real Deal.

12. That's good, but I need details on his house before I can agree.
Because the type of house he lives in and lightbulb choices should be the major deciding factor in picking the candidate you endorse. :)

(Just kidding. I really like Dennis and Cindy. I'll be supporting another candidate, but I would happily cast my vote for Dennis if he wins the primary).

17. This is a good endorsement, but Dennis can't win
I mean, after the MSM explains a million times between the convention and the general that Dennis Kucinich personally set the Cuyahoga River on fire by throwing lit joints in it, and that people called him Dennis the Menace when he was mayor of Cleveland, even Cheney will outpoll him.

:sarcasm:

A long long time ago I called for the Democrats to go back to the way Republicans select their presidential candidates and reinstate the smoke-filled room because you know that every time we have a Primary Debate, there are about a hundred Repuke Opposition Researchers sitting there taking notes on how to go after the person we eventually run. We can't do the same to them because, by the time the second or third primary is over, their anointed guy has already run off any opposition with news that the opponent is a sheep-fucker or even worse. And these are Republicans!

Oh my Gawd, I always wondered who was responsible for that!
I am going to think again about my own endorsement of Kucinich...
