Michael Moore says (on Twitter):
"People of Connecticut: What have u done 2 this country? We hold u responsible. Start recall of Lieberman 2day or we'll boycott your state."

I say to Michael Moore (on DU): Go fuck yourself, Mikey. You and "we" ("we" who, exactly?) are going to "boycott my state?" I'd enjoy that, so please do so.

Get over yourself, fathead. And stop telling me what to do, if you don't mind.

It's unconstitutional for states to recall federal officials.

Can't be done by any state in the Union.

42. Gov. Davis was not a Federal officer...
he was governor of a State. The State constitution of California allows State officials to be recalled.
Connecticut doesn't have any recall procedures in its Constitution at all - Local, State or Federal.

43. Gray Davis was GOVERNOR of California, not a US Senator and not a US Congressman
So that's how they could recall him.

California CANNOT recall US Senators or US Congressmen. The power to remove these officials rests solely within those respective bodies via a two-thirds vote to expel.

There is NO OTHER WAY to remove a sitting US Senator or US Congressperson.

Boycott Connecticut business' that have supported Joe Lieberman.. I see nothing wrong with that and could well support such.. The business that gave us Lieberman.. Betcha some include the insurance giants.. that I would love to do.. I'd burn their policies right in front of their glass towers in Hartford.. Have not had such fun since many of us burnt our draft cards..

That is not my problem.. I am sure Aetna gives big time to Lieberman. We've been screwed over by them too many times.. If you are one of their employees, hope its not you. I've read many Big Insurance companies are not even insuring their own employees. Should a Connecticut company not be a Lieberman financial backer, then they should not be boycotted.

I blame the repubs for his election, but he is yours whether you like it or not. We had one some years back (a repub) and I cringed every time I heard his name.

As for Moore, sometimes what he says is helpful and sometimes it is just his own rantings. Like with anyone else, I listen to what I think is important and ignore the rest.

I went to a Dem thing in the county he currently lives in a few years back. He took the floor (of course, that man loooooooves to soapbox). He then went on to bitch about the State House Dem caucus and a few other things and it was stunning to me how little he knew of how things he was commenting on really worked.

He should stick to things he does know about.

Only the Senate can expel a Senator via a two-thirds vote. That is a power reserved to the Senate. No state has the power to remove a Senator. It's unconstitutional.
