The individual mandate is a really bad idea, and the Democratic Party will pay for it dearly if it forces this bitter pill down the throats of the American people.

Forcing people to buy insurance is no more the solution to a failed health care system than forcing people to buy houses is the solution to homelessness.

And based upon the subsidy tables I have seen. For me and my wife (both uninsured), I will need to pay out approximately $4,000.00 per year for insurance. I can assure you that, unless my financial situation improves dramatically over the next year, I will not be able to afford that extra expense.

I have no idea what you're referring to in regards to "the costs of not having insurance." My wife and I have not seen doctors in years, so we don't have that expense figured into our current expenses.

Of course, the President tells me that uninsured people add about $1,000.00 per year to the costs of each person who pays for insurance. He like to make us feel like Cadillac Queens who are exploiting the system. Not a winning argument, imho.

I think that any subsidies are going to be budget breakers and will be inadequate to start with and will be rapidly curtailed.

We really don't have any idea what the final legislation (if any) will look like and by the time we do have a clue it will be too late to do anything about it.

After watching the games that have been played in the legislature over this issue I have zero trust in them to do anything that will help out the average American.
