Agent Orange Continues to Poison New Generations in Vietnam

Residue from Agent Orange, sprayed to deny enemy troops jungle cover, remains so toxic that this patch of land is considered one of the most contaminated pieces of real estate in the country. A recent study indicates that even three decades after the war, the cancer-causing dioxins are at levels 300 to 400 times higher than what is deemed safe.

From Time and the photos of deformities are shocking. I knew of two deaths personally from Agent orange. Just wait for Depleted Uranium to catch up
with agent orange in Afganistan and Iraq if it hasn't already.

is that it didn't do some of the US forces who dispersed it a whole lot of good either.

an old friend and a Vietnam vet was recently diagnosed with advanced prostrate cancer. It has spread to the bones and other organs. The Urologists believe that Agent Orange exposure is the cause. He served in Vietnam from 1968-69.

information regarding the immediate post-bombing effects on
Vietnam targets.

7. Agent Orange was not in bombs, it was a sprayed defoliant

And when you say bombing, do you mean tactical - bad guys here so bomb them or strategic - like Operation Arc Light or Linebacker II?

9. After effects in Vietnam.

Hi Guys,
Operation Linebacker II is very interesting and has to be one
of the more controversial bombings, it will
be one of my main topics.
My studies, if there is evidence, will focus on how the people
felt in regards to morale and feelings towards
their aggressors. 

Any information on the effects, including the various agents
sprayed will be useful to me.
This study is following on in much more detail of the Allied
bombing campaigns of WWII, which 
had very little effect on morale. At least to the degree that
was intended.

As to what do we tell and teach our children? Thats a tough
one.
'New' History teaching, at least in Great Britain recognizes
that the fire-bombing campaigns
of WWII were terrible acts carried out by a frustrated RAF and
USAAF.

In Europe we are reminded about Hamburg, Dresden and Coventry.
But little is mentioned about Tokyo
which I am sure you know suffered terribly in the later stages
of WWII.

The civilian side of things in Vietnam needs more
investigation, or so I am hoping!
