Woman Makes Dolls To Honor Dead Son
Company Produces American-Made Dolls
WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. -- A local woman is taking the recession into her own hands by creating and operating her own economic engine that is creating jobs for others in Central Florida.
Aranza Zamora said she has always wanted to be a doll maker. She tried it on and off for years, but she never had the money to fully pursue her dream until her 24-year-old son, Ivan, offered her everything he had to begin a business.
"He told me, 'Mom, why don't you come back to do the dolls and I'll help you. I'll be your investor,' " Zamora said.
With her son's money, she was soon producing dolls and selling them at kiosks in local malls.
"When he said he would do the business with me, he was the only person in the moment that believed in me," Zamora said.
Shortly after helping her with seed money, Ivan had a heart attack and unexpectedly died.
