California Considering Mandatory Condoms in Porn Rule

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- State regulators have agreed to consider a request from an AIDS advocacy group calling for mandatory use of condoms in porn films.

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation submitted the request Thursday at a meeting of the California Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board.

The advocacy group wants current rules requiring healthcare workers to wear gear that prevents the spread of disease to extend to adult film sets.

The Cal/OSHA board has 60 days to evaluate the petition and issue a response.

They're not going to sacrifice the "money shot" to appease regulators. A set built in Vegas looks and films the same as a set built in LA. The porn industry is only based in LA today because long ago it drew most of its actors from the ranks of failed Hollywood hopefuls. That hasn't been the case in a long time.

The porn industry is dying anyway. The Internet and its free five minute clip sites are killing the traditional porn movie and magazines.

The title talks condoms, but the request had nothing to do with condoms. They want OSHA healthcare worker rules applied, which requires a protective barrier be used to prevent ANY contact with fluids from another person.

That means masks for oral money shots, gloves for manual money shots, and condoms for money shots that might hit any other part of the body.

Porn is about fantasy. Nobody wants to see gloves and fluid barriers.
