Der Spiegel reporter calls Inhofe ‘ridiculous’ at Copenhagen summit
A reporter asked: “If there’s a hoax, then who’s putting on this hoax, and what’s the motive?”

“It started in the United Nations,” Inhofe said, “and the ones in the United States who really grab ahold of this is the Hollywood elite.”

One reporter asked Inhofe if he was referring to California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Another reporter — this one from Der Spiegel — told the senator: “You’re ridiculous.”

Inhofe ignored the jab, fielded a few more questions, then raced to the airport for the nine-hour flight back to Washington.

1. Europeans must be fascinated at how Americans can elect Obama and Inhofe
I'm not sure if they want to praise us or pity us.

7. It's one of those states
that would elect a bucket of warm shit, just as long as it had an 'R' after its name.

15. Personally I think its our electronic vote counting machines
and the high cost of a recount. On the local level you won't find a half dozen repukes in any 5 counties but get to the state and federal level it all changes. Its the machines and I've thought that from early on when we all of a sudden took a big right turn about the same time.

4. I heard him say that any treaty Obama agreed to in Copenhagen would not be ratified by the Senate.
Since they need a 2/3 vote to ratify and the republicans have 40 votes, he may know what he is talking about.

8. The Europeans don't see these kind of ignoramuses too often
Guys like Inhofe are regarded as space aliens by your average European. They usually find it astounding that these fundie nuts are actually government officials.

Actually, we here in Canada don't see them often, either. Once a politician starts spouting anti-science BS, they're pounced on by the press and roundly ridiculed.

In America, they're asked to go on prominent TV shows.
