She has never shied from calling her partner "my partner".

Who is Susan???

Given the tone and context of her having used the term "my date, Susan" and now knowing her partner's name is Susan, I'm glad.

I think I read in Mother Jones a few years back that Rachel was doing Odd jobs one summer and went to do some painting or something.
Anyway it was love at first sight kind of thing.
