1. Maybe Kerry should still have been the nominee, but the plaform

Should have had a lot of Dennis' ideas(especially on Iraq and healthcare).

We lost in the fall because our candidate was vague and didn't fight against smears. And because nobody trusts a candidate who refuses to defend his party's own core values.

In hindsight, I wish Feingold had run. We'd have done no worse and would probably have done a hell of a lot better. And the smears WOULD have been answered.

6. The Republicans would have exploited Dennis Kucinich's liberalism really really badly

the Republican Bush apologists would have even MORE fodder for smears than the Swift Boats did when Kerry was running. I mean, Kucinich wrote those useless articles of impeachment for George W. Bush and is a hardcore opponent of the Iraq War, to put it in perspective.

and no one else really came close.

Kerry's polling in the months ahead of the Iowa caucus offered grim soundings. In the subsequent weeks he closed hard and fast and was true and focused. In January of 2004 Iowa Democrats, roughly 4 in10, gave him their vote.

He deserved to win that primary season and he did win that primary season.

It's been 5 years since the people re-elected Chimpy, a move for which the British tabloid Daily Mirror infamously asked: "How can 59,054,087 people be so DUMB?" Get over it.

But seriously, if John Kerry won in 2004, how would things really be different? Would Barack Obama even have CONSIDERED running for the head of state?

Should have because he was my guy?

But it would have been interesting to run Dean. We probably would have still lost, but it would have been fun.
