What is covered by this insurance people will have to buy? What does the bill say?
What things are guarenteed covered? What are the co-pays and deductibles? What is the minimum monthly cost to purchase it
Is this all spelled out in the bill? All the minimums that the lowest rung of insurance must cover and for how much?

Also - what are the penalties if people still don't buy the insurance?

thanks....

Sen. Harkin on the Randi Rhodes radio show. He said that the penalty is $95.00 with waivers for certain income groups.

6. It is annually......
But I think it is supposed to go up every year until 2016.

4. Great, a $95.00 sop to the government
because I refuse to shell out thousands for a silly health care policy that won't cover most of what is likely to go wrong with me. There's no choice there but to pay the fine and continue paying costs out of pocket.

Oh, the insurance company would be forced to write me a policy. They would just charge the maximum under law and refuse to pay for anything related to my disqualifying illness, meaning it would be a glorified accident policy.

This is why I didn't bother living in a studio in the War Zone instead of a house in order to pay insurance 15 years ago, the last time they would have written a policy. The same condition prevailed: we won't cover anything related to what you need the insurance for.

Someone here yesterday said health insurance was like an umbrella that dissolved in the rain. I think that analogy is the best I've seen.
