Snowe Clinches Deal To Turn Logic On Head
Josh Marshall | December 19, 2009, 12:38PM

After months in which the Senate health care bill was held up over efforts to find some form in which she would agree to sign on to it, Sen. Snowe (R-ME) now says she will oppose it because it is being "rushed."

1. Snowe wasn't ever going to vote for it, and always stated that the bill needed to be stalled.
this is her excuse. Good as any other, I suppose.

4. Assuming Robert Byrd is able to attend, Snowe is not part of 60 vote
calculations.

6. Able to attend
Says it all. Not reporting for the job you were elected to do. I am sick of that. Byrd has been a great ally but it's time for him to retire. I am sick of career politicians who are useless for the last few years of their lives. Go to work or retire.

18. Have no fear. If he's breathing, they'll get him there for it.
I'm convinced the last year Strom Thurmond served was, basically, a weekend at Bernie's situation.

10. I hope not.
It would restore my faith in at least one or two liberal Senators if they opposed this crap bill.

16. Let's hope not. n/t

Kill the bill.

Forcing people to buy insurance is no more the answer to a failed health care

system than forcing people to buy houses is the solution to homelessness.
